The Board of Directors of Solstice Film Festival would like to extend our deepest
appreciation and thanks for all of the support. The 2008 Solstice Film Festival was a great
success and none of it could be possible without your help. It is because of the time,
effort and financial backing provided by our generous volunteers and sponsors that
Solstice is even possible.
The three-day festival once again boasted some of the best projects that independent
films have to offer. The weekend came to a close with the screening of "Brothers at
War", a documentary that gives a poignant look at what affects war has on the average
American family and what war looks like through the eyes of a soldier. This heart
wrenching and honest film is the microcosm of the programming quality Solstice offers
time and time again. With the efforts of our volunteers and sponsors, stories such as this
would not be told.
We at Solstice cannot thank you enough for the support. The continued backing of our
sponsors and volunteers have provided for a solid platform allowing Solstice the
opportunity to provide Minnesota with quality entertainment for years to come. We are
already hard at work planning next year's event. Each year we strive to be bigger and
better than the previous year and 2009 Solstice plans to make leaps and bounds towards
becoming one of the top film festivals in the country.
